This week is already promising to be a busy one – school projects due, work deadlines to be met, dietetic internship matching results on Sunday to stress out about, running/XT/PT to keep up with, social life not to forget about – no wonder why I wanted to stay in bed this morning!
On the bright side: it’s not Monday. In fact, it’s almost Wednesday.
When my head starts spinning and stressing about many to dos and too little time, looking on the bright side of things helps calm the nerves and put things in perspective.
School project due: I’m really enjoying my food writing class, and feel pretty confident about the article proposal I’ve put together for Thursday’s class
Busy workdays: crossing off things on the to do list
Being holed up in the office all day: a go-to delicious lunch – overnight oats with Justine’s Chocolate Peanut Butter, Greek yogurt, strawberries and mango
Running: seeing the sun rise this morning from Central Park
(Down side: the Achilles did not appreciate the hills in CP, so I will be treadmilling and cross training for the rest of the week)
PT: progress! This morning’s run aside, this Achilles is on the mend and my PT is pleased.
We met at Lucali in Carroll Gardens right when the restaurant opened to make sure we got a table (the place is BYOB, cozy and in high demand!).
Authentic and to the point, Lucali serves pizza and calzones – that’s it. But with good reason – the time spent making them to near perfection was obvious when the piping hot pies (one plain, one with artichoke heart and basil) arrived at our table.
Delicious and satisfying. Not the best I’ve had, but it ranks right up there with some of my favorite NYC pizza excursions thus far. Plus, you can’t really go wrong when delicious pizza is combined with wine, friends and a little
Question: Strategies for dealing with stress and busy weeks? I heart to do lists!
