Thank you guys so much for your sweet, encouraging comments to my last post. You’re all right – everything does happen for a reason.
But regardless, the last couple of days haven’t quite been the greatest and I haven’t really been feeling like myself. It’s times like this when I’m even more thankful for running, which is often my outlet for emotional pain, heartache, and disappointment.
When I’m pounding out the miles, all I have to worry about is putting one foot in front of the other and breathing (ok, and watching out for the occasional rock or raccoon!). The process of running can instantly simplify and clarify some of the most complicated times in life, yes?
And I’m so thankful that the Achilles has been feeling 100% so far this week – hooray! I am officially a believer in physical therapy and ultrasound.
As much as I enjoy going solo, running buddies can also do wonders for the soul. This morning’s 6.5 miles with Megan was exactly what I needed to start the day and yeah, vent just a little (thanks for listening, friend!).
Work and life have been extremely busy this week, so most of my meals have been in front of the computer – either at work, home or in class. My favorite new lunch combination:
Strawberries, mango, walnuts over greek yogurt and oats soaked overnight in almond milk
It kind of turns into a hot mess, but a delicious one. I’m loving mango these days!
Hopefully life will slow down soon so I can finalize the details for my plan B. Even if I don’t quite have a clear direction yet, I know I’ll still have running, so it can’t be so bad, right?
Question: What is your outlet to help you deal with “stuff” in life?
