If I wasn’t already excited to get back to running, watching Boston on Monday really pushed me over the edge. I couldn’t stop thinking over and over again, “I want to race!”
The Achilles has been feeling great, and with the blessing from my PT I signed up for two 10K’s – the UAE Healthy Kidney 10K on May 14 and the New York Mini 10K in June. Even though 10Ks are probably my least favorite distance (especially in Central Park – holy hills batman!), I’m super excited to get back out there and work towards a new PR.
I’m slowly increasing the mileage and think I’ll try some speedwork next week (hooray, tempo runs?), but this morning was an easy 6.5 miles around the bridle path with Megan and Maria. Even though I woke up a little groggy and cranky, the crisp weather and great company perked me right up. I heart running buddies!
A weekend away kinda limited my kitchen time lately, so I thought I’d share the rest of some low-key, delicious eats from Boston.
B. Good – a “healthy” Boston-area fast food joint with fresh, local ingredients
Southwestern Chicken Salad with mesclun, avocado, corn, black beans and toasted corn
Baked sweet potato fries
Naked Pizza – a national chain with simple, natural ingredients. Don’t worry, NYC-ers, a location is coming soon to the Union Square area!
Superbiotic pizza with artichoke, spinach, bell pepper, mushroom, garlic, red onion and cilantro
As much as I love dining out at posh restaurants, sometimes the simple stuff just hits the spot.
Question: Do you have a favorite low-key dining spot? Thoughts on 10Ks? I love to hate them!
